Josef’s desire for a racing adrenaline began to show already before he blew out candels on his birthday cake at age of eight. Not long after his birthday, he was successfully finishing races and until his fourteen age he already won a number of prestigious awards and especially became a Champion of Czech Republic three times. He didn’t give up on engines even during his studies at a business college and was still trying to be successful in the National Formula 1400 championship. Already in year 2005 as a driver of Mičánek Motosport he is finishing on 3rd place in the championship, which secures him a racing seat for another year. During this year he becomes a first Czech driver who got to the young driver development program of BMW. During a Formula BMW World final race in Valencia he finished second which helps a lot his reputation. Unfortunately the joy didn’t last long because after few minutes he was disqualified for a part on the car, which couldn’t have any effect on the final result. The following season he is as an experienced seventeen year old driver moving to Great Britain to race in the team Raikkonen Roberston Racing and continue in the Formula BMW UK championship. Even the bad luck stays with him a he has many technical problems he is still able to finish on second place overall. He became a first Czech driver who succeeded in this category.

Another step leading to his dream of Formula 1 is year 2008 where Josef starts in International Formula Master championship. Together with JVA Team he finishes on 6th place. All experience and knowledge of all the circuits he turned to great result to finish 3rd overall in Italian squad JD Motorsport. Sovereign victory at Hungaroring was the key to his destiny. In addition, for the first time in ten years, we could hear the Czech national anthem at the weekend of Formula 1. The year 2010 was marked by major changes in Josef Kral’s racing career and even in his personal life. Appart from moving to Prague where he lives and studies a University of Finance, he also sing a contract with Supernova racing team. Thanks to this contract he reached a stepping stone of Formula 1 and prove his talent in GP2 championship. Great progress of young talent spoils an accident in a sprint race of European Grand Prix where Josef suffered a fracture of two vertebrae. As a result of a long treatment he managed to do only the last race in Abu Dhabi, where he showed great performance ,which was noticed by the HRT F1 Team and they offered him the opportunity to test an F1 car. He was even quicker than the current drivers at the Yas Marina circuit. Just a year after in the team of Christian Horner Arden International he followed this success and finished second in Monaco Grand Prix together with third place in Belgium Grand Prix for the British squad. Technical problems and a huge bad luck returned back in the year 2012 when is Josef racing for Spanish team Barwa Addax. He hardly finishes a single race due to a many failures. The revolutionary result came on one one his favorite tracks in Spa (Belgium), where he scored as the first Czech driver a win of the GP2 race.

The feeling of victory, however, did not last a long time. The year 2013 turned into a quest of searching for a strong partners and sponsors, who guarantee entry into the dreamed category and the Queen of motorsport, to Formula 1. Although we haven’t been able to sign any particular contract so far Josef still didn’t give up on racing. An example is the participation in the domestic race in Brno of the Auto GP series.
